Student Learning Outcomes

Graduates of the Nursing Program will be able to:

  • Patient Centered Care: Manage nursing care based on the patient’s preferences using a structured, problem-solving approach through clinical judgment, and knowledge derived from the ADN program of study.
  • Clinical Judgment: Integrate nursing knowledge and clinical reasoning derived from the ADN program of study to provide patient and family-centered care using a structured, problem-solving, evidence-based approach within RN standards of practice.
  • Teamwork and Collaboration: Facilitate collaboration and communication in a timely manner as a member of an interdisciplinary team with health care team members, patients, their families and/or important others to improve patient outcomes, based on the RN scope of practice.
  • Quality and Safety: Manage nursing care that promotes quality outcomes and minimizes harm to patients and providers through both system effectiveness and individual performance, based on the RN scope of practice.
  • Professionalism: Demonstrate professionalism by practicing with values and characteristics of a registered nurse, resulting in the consistent delivery of safe, quality, patient-centered, evidence-based care.
