Associate in Applied Science, Diagnostic Medical Sonography

Student Learning Outcomes

Graduates of the Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program will:

  • The student will master competencies in abdominal, obstetrics-gynecology, and vascular
    sonography. (DMS 205, DMS 206, DMS 225, DMS 261)
  • The student will be prepared to sit for national registry exams. (DMS 232)
  • The student will demonstrate quality skills while maintaining a safe environment. (DMS 231)
  • The student will be proficient in obtaining and processing patient history information to
    facilitate optimal results. (DMS 232)
  • The student will perform sonography procedures for appropriate and accurate interpretation. (DMS 229)
  • The student will demonstrate effective communication and patient comfort skills to maximize
    patient care. (DMS 217)
  • The student will function effectively as motivated members of a healthcare team. (DMS 229, DMS 230, DMS 231, DMS 232)
